Welcome home. You are safe here.
"We all need hope for every day of our earthly journey. But we need this hope especially now, in this difficult moment in the history of the world, in this difficult moment of our lives. The residents of this house especially need this hope – the Home of Hope. To those who live here now and to those who will live in the future. Whoever they are – they will always be people who are in a difficult moment in their lives, they will always be people who need hope. May they always find it here" – with these words Sister Provincial Kamila greeted all those present.
The dedication of the Home of Hope had been planned for a long time. The last preparations were already underway, the beds were prepared, as well as the bedding, with colorful blankets. Everything is ready to receive homeless people who were to find shelter here. And then the day of February 24 came.
And everything changed. At this moment, it is the people fleeing the war-torn country who need help the most...
Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki celebrated the solemn dedication and “laying” of the cornerstone The participants in the Home of Hope were refugees from Ukraine and sisters, headed by our Mother General Samuela and the sisters Councilors from Rome. After the liturgy, we all met for a modest treat in the
dining room. It was a wonderful opportunity to talk and get to know each other better. Our guests expressed their great gratitude to Poland and all those who are now helping them. Tears flowed from many eyes...
Pope Benedict XVI said: "He who hopes lives differently; he has been given a new life." So be it. May everyone who finds refuge within the walls of the Home of Hope be given new life. May their hearts be filled with new hope.
